Delete your Wirebasket account
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Your family's information belongs to your family. We built Wirebasket to be trusted with the details of your household, and part of earning that trust is making it easy to leave. You can remove your data from our systems whenever you like, yourself, without asking anyone. This page shows you how, and is honest about the little that remains for a short while afterward.
In the app
You can delete your account yourself, in the Wirebasket app on iPhone or Android or on the web. It takes effect immediately. Keep this page open so you can follow along.
- Open Wirebasket on your phone, or in a new tab with the button below, and sign in.
- Open the menu, choose Your settings, then open Delete account or family at the bottom.
- Press Delete my account, type the confirmation phrase shown on screen, then confirm.
Delete family is there too: it deletes your whole family and every account in it, not just yours. If you're the only person in your family with an account, it's the only option offered. If you haven't joined a family yet, Delete my account is on the screen that asks for your invite code.
What gets deleted
Delete my account permanently deletes:
- Your account, name, and email address
- Your conversations with the assistant
- Your private memories
- Files you uploaded
- Your connection to Google Calendar, Google sign-in, and Sign in with Apple (we revoke our access)
Your family keeps what you shared with it, such as shared memories and family events, so the other members don't lose them.
Delete family permanently deletes the family, everything Wirebasket knows about it, and every account in it. Everyone in the family is signed out.
What we keep, and for how long
- Backups: encrypted database backups that include your data for up to 7 days, after which they expire automatically.
- Server logs: technical logs for up to 30 days, after which they're deleted automatically.
- Usage records: counts of how much the service was used and what it cost, with nothing linking them to you.
- Email preferences: if you unsubscribed from our emails, a hashed form of your address, so we keep honoring your choice.
We don't keep anything else after your account is deleted, unless the law requires us to preserve it. Our Privacy Policy explains when.
