Privacy Policy

Wirebasket is a family scheduling assistant, currently in alpha. It helps families stay organized by connecting to their calendars and using AI to provide scheduling assistance.

We collect the following types of data:

• Google Calendar data — event titles, times, attendees, and locations
• Account information — your email address and name, provided via Google OAuth
• Conversation history — your messages and interactions with the AI assistant
• Forwarded emails — if you forward an email to your family's Wirebasket inbox address, we store its contents (sender, subject, body, and attachments) and process it to extract events, dates, and tasks
• Uploaded files and photos — if you upload an image or file (e.g., a photographed flyer), we store it and process it to extract schedule details

When you connect your Google account, Wirebasket requests four narrowly-scoped Google Calendar permissions. Here is exactly what each one is used for:

• View and edit events on your calendars (calendar.events) — to sync your schedule into Wirebasket and to create, update, or delete events when you (or a family member with permission) ask the assistant to. Wirebasket only writes to calendars that a member of your family has explicitly enabled with read/write permission, using that member's Google connection.
• See the list of your calendars (calendar.calendarlist.readonly) — to show you your calendars during setup so you can choose which ones Wirebasket may watch. Wirebasket never touches calendars you don't enable.
• Create calendars of its own (calendar.app.created) — if you ask, Wirebasket creates a shared family calendar on your Google account. This permission gives Wirebasket control only over calendars it created itself — Google enforces that Wirebasket can never delete or reconfigure your pre-existing calendars.
• Share calendars you own (calendar.acls) — used for one purpose: sharing the family calendar Wirebasket created with the other members of your family, so everyone sees the same schedule. Wirebasket never changes sharing settings on any other calendar, and never shares any calendar with anyone outside your family.

Your data is used to power the features you signed up for:

• Scheduling assistance and calendar coordination
• Extracting events, dates, and tasks from emails and files you choose to send us
• Daily schedule digests
• Conflict detection across family members' calendars
• Memory extraction from conversations (so the assistant remembers your preferences and context)
• Family coordination features

Your data is stored on AWS infrastructure using an RDS/Postgres database. All data is encrypted at rest and hosted in a US region.

We use the following third-party services to operate Wirebasket:

• Anthropic (Claude AI) — Your calendar data and conversation history are sent to Anthropic's API to power the AI scheduling assistant. This includes event titles, times, attendees, locations, and your messages. This processing serves only your own requests: neither Wirebasket nor Anthropic uses this data to train AI models (Anthropic's API does not train on customer data), and your Google user data is never combined with other users' data or used to build generalized models.
• Google Calendar API — Used to list your calendars during setup, read and write events on calendars you enable, and (if you ask) create and share a family calendar on your behalf.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — All Wirebasket infrastructure, including storage of your data and delivery of transactional email, runs on AWS.
• Sentry — Error monitoring. When something breaks, technical diagnostics (error messages, internal record IDs) are sent to Sentry so we can fix it. We scrub personal content — calendar names, event titles, email contents, and addresses are excluded from error reports.
• Slack — We receive an internal operational notification (your name and email address) when you sign up, so we can welcome you and monitor the alpha. Nothing else is sent to Slack.

We want to be explicit about what we will never do with your data:

• We do not sell your data
• We do not use your data for advertising
• We do not share your data with data brokers
• We do not use your data for retargeting
• We do not profile you for third parties

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Calendar data is cached and refreshed periodically. Conversation history is retained to improve the assistant's memory and context.

You can request deletion of your data at any time.

To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email support@wirebasket.ai. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

We use a single session cookie for authentication. That's it. No tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no third-party cookies.

Wirebasket is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

Wirebasket is based in the United States and our alpha is currently US-only. However, we respect your data rights: you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal data at any time by contacting support@wirebasket.ai.

Wirebasket's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, for data obtained through Google APIs:

• We use it only to provide the user-facing features described in this policy — calendar sync, scheduling assistance, digests, and family coordination.
• We do not use Google user data to train or improve AI or machine-learning models, generalized or otherwise, and we do not allow third parties to do so.
• We do not transfer it to anyone except as necessary to provide those features (see Third-Party Services above), to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with prior notice to you.
• We never sell it, and never use or transfer it for serving advertisements.
• Humans do not read this data except with your explicit consent for support, for security purposes, or to comply with the law.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
